The World of Cassandra Oleander

I love the rain. I love the silky soft feel of a gentle rain. I love a violent thunderstorm with lighening soaring across the sky and enormously loud cracks of thunder.

I mean no disrespect to those who've suffered in the two recent hurricanes. I am NOT fond of hurricanes. But a good storm -- cleans the senses, cleans the mind. It makes me feel as though the tensions of the days and weeks have washed away.

It reminds me that there's more going on that concrete and corporations!

Got The Blues!

Got the blues today.

Some days, that's just the way it goes.

Wish I could play the harmonica so I could make Art out of the dark days!

I love fall weather!

One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to rake the leaves and then roll in them. I don't have a yard right now . . .do you think the neighbors would be upset if I rolled in their leaves?

I Don't Get It

The Government blamed the people who were too poor to leave New Orleans for getting flooded out and stranded, saying they didn't take the evacuation order seriously.

The Government has a million people on its hands in Houston trying to get out, but sits there and watches the cars run out of gas for fourteen hours.

The Government needs to fire all the idiots it has working for it and get in some competent personnel.

Doesn't make sense.

I don't believe it!

I spelled my own name wrong when I signed up!

If you look at it to the right, it's not spelled right.

Oh, well, okay.

And you wonder why I call this blog "Askew"?

Just living up to it all, I guess!

Here We Go - Whoop De Do!

Well, here I am. Cassandra Oleander, on the night of Mabon, the Fall Equinox.

Didn't think I was going to make it, quite frankly. Took me damned near an hour to get Blogger to accept anything I had to say as far as my sign-in name and my links. Was ready to tell them what for, that's what for!

But I did it, made it through, and now I have a pink blog!

Why the heck would anyone want to read about my askew life?

I have no idea.

But it sounds kind of fun.

And, since I'm going to have a poem published on Halloween by a site called CIRCADIAN POEMS, I figured, well, you know, I'm supposed to have a site, and I don't want to have a website because it's too gosh darned much work right now, so I'll do this.

I'll ramble.

Who knows what we'll find in the briars of my mind?

The world is a reasonably interesting place, you know? So I'm going to try to present my experience of it in a way that doesn't make you yawn. If you're yawning, I want it to be because you're tired, not because I'm boring company.

Oops, caught you out there -- guess I'm not doing so well on this post, huh? ;)

Hey, it's my first post, you know? I've got to learn how to do this bloggy thing.

It's the Equinox -- aren't I supposed to balance an egg or something? Or is that only in spring?
